Five Questions It's Time to Ask Yourself~

1. What have you always wanted to do but haven’t taken the time to do it yet?

2. What have you always wanted to experience but haven’t made it a priority?

3. What did you see yourself doing in your professional life when you were younger?

4. What would you tell your 20-year younger self?

5. What would your 20 year older self-tell you?

These are questions that I ask my clients. These clients are making enough money to pay their bills, have no debt and are planning for the future. Have you ever taken the time to actually think about what is possible or what could be different? Many people do their work, take care of their family and go to sleep. This is the cassette tape that we replay over and over again. It’s almost like Groundhog’s Day.

Choose one thing that you will work towards achieving. For example, if you’ve always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, pick a date on the calendar and start planning the trip. If you’ve always wanted to experience bungee jump off a tall bridge (my fingers are literally shaking right now) set that goal. You could plan to do some research about it by a specific day learning about where the jumping can be done, how much it’s going to cost, the liability and what the restrictions or limitations. Then select another day to make a decision about what sounds reasonable to you. If we aren’t looking forward, are we content? Or are we comfortable?

When I was in elementary school, I wanted to be a waitress. That was my professional dream job. I would have told my 23-year-old self to not take things so seriously. I hope my 20-year older self would tell me that she is proud of me.

What’s one thing you will do within the next two days to move closer to what you really want out of life?
